Fly tying with synthetics

I haven't post much of fly tying recently, mostly because I have fished so much with Wiggle tail flies.
Since I met Mr.Bauer at GoExpo fair earlier this year I started to tie flies suited for those magical tails and had a good spring which has continued so far,I haven't blanked a single time this season so far.
Anyway,I have felt that I want to try something new, first it was smaller flies (like I use to go for in summer) but with same materials and on tube...just like the bigger one I tie.
I can't remember where I saw some beautiful flies made of synthetics and thank's to Mr Chandler from http://www.jerkbaitmania.co.uk I started to tie up some baitfishpatterns of Pike Skinz.
Even if synthetics have never been my favorite material it has become to an important material in my tying now when I learned to handle it a bit and saw some patterns to get some ideas from.

I have start to use these baitfish patterns now when water has warmed up a bit and with Pike Skinz endless color blends I have managed to create flies I have been very happy with.

With or without stripes

Pike Skinz got some awesome colors and if that ain't enough you can blend them by yourself more if you feel to.
Add some flash, add stripes...Start to like synthetics =D
As you can see I also tie these on hooks using Sakuma Manta 545 size 5/0 for summer flies, they are small,15-20 cm and feel I get them faster under surface and with a sink line also deeper than on tubes.

Feel there's so many possibilities still to try.

These flies are quick to tie and often in middle of tying I found myself thinking how to develop this pattern further and one fine day I decided to make a try to add a wiggle tail on these, after couple of failed tries I finally came on with a pretty small fly but with a tail I'm happy with the size, still need to see how it work with a roly poly retrieving FAST.

And that's not enough, found some blades for buzz baits.
Had also some stainless wire so.....why not ? A buzz-fly...

Have no idea how this will work.
My first thought was that if I'm able to get a popper out I will get this too but casting MIGHT be a pain in the ass with that rotating blade, will the whole fly spin in the water ?
Also this was meant for topwater fishing among water lilys,I had a plan to fish next week on a huge area with a lot of reed and water lilys, water there is very murky so poppers and this buzz fly can be the key to success.
I will tell you later on next week....

Nice day out.Fishing June 17

This summer has been remarkable in two ways, very windy and cold,so even June 17 when I decided to get out no matter what.
Had a day earlier spent many hours just staring out from the window waiting for the wind to calm down...for nothing.
Had some plans to get out early but was so tired and in no hurry so I decided for an hors nap before an 45 min drive.
I arrived to the shore about 8 am,just in time to see the wind increasing....made up some plans where to fish and also a plan B if the wind would be too much.

Sunny but cold only 11 degrees which is cold to be in end of June.Increasing wind from west which has never been my favorite wind.
Anyway, started to paddle against a strong wind with so heavy gusts I barely moved forward at all so I decide to stop on a shelter place which look good but where I of some reason never catch anything,so even today.I decided to bravely challenge the wind and moved forward close to an islet where I had option to fish both shelter and windy side.
After paddling for thirty minutes against a strong wind I was if not exhausted at least very tired so I decided to start on the shelter side after I had have something to eat and drink.

The place were I was about to fish looked good,a reed bank with a shallow area but deeper water just outside the reed, and that deeper area was on my mind today, have found it productive to fish deeper in hard wind, that's why I also decided to go for ordinary hookflies instead of tubes.

Started to fish in slightly deeper area but blanked so I moved a bit to fish closer to the reed and now I found some fishes too,small....very small....but at least the game was on.

Not a day saver as you can see,I caught a lot of these buggers before I decided to go to the windy side  to try my luck.
On this side there's deep water close to the reeds and once again I started a bit out from the bank...nothing,I was a bit confused....moved closer to the reeds but still nothing...decided to change my fly and immediately had a better hit on the fly,and managed to land this fella.

Not many casts later and second fish landed....
Fished this bank very carefully and soon I had a fish which I thought was big, after minutes of a hard battling I managed to land a nice one again. This one gave a hard time and a memory for lifetime.

Feel so good to break the code and for today it seemed to be deep water on windy side and fast retrieving, and of course the right fly which today was a pink/yellow Pike Skinz baitfish pattern.

Caught one more nice one from almost same spot as the one who gave me a good dance.

Even good days come to an end or let's say I decided to stop fishing while it was good, didn't want to ruin this feeling.
stopped on one windy reed bank on my way home and caught one more pike.

I had wind,I had sun,I had rain,I got good old "panda eyes" but most of all I had an awesome day out.

Fishing camp June 5 -June 7 2015

Sorry for a late post but have so much to before my holiday starts.
My brother started this "camp idea" some years ago meant for youngsters my brother has worked with through years and nowadays I have been taken part in it as often I can.
It has been arranged twice a year,in summer and autumn.

It has been a year since I last took part of this camp and I have good memories from that,we had some awesome fishing that weekend with +120 pikes landed.
At the autumn camp last year I was in Sweden fishing at JKFO 2014 event.

Anyway we started to fish on Friday morning in a sunny but windy weather, actually the wind was very hard, almost so hard it made the fishing tough.
Not gonna go in for details of our fishing, made a small video clip of it.
Saturday started in same weather as Friday, except that later on we got even some rain and at pm we had a wind that made fishing impossible.

Sundays forecasts was unrelieved, wind gusts up to 19 m/s and I decided to travel home on Sat.evening,no need to take any risks.
Think we landed a total amount somewhere between 60 and 70 pikes.Even if the total amount was smaller than I last were here we still had some fun imo, hoping that autumn camp don't cross with JKFO 2015 this year.
